Would like to make an appointment to renew my South African passport. I have a flight to Durban on 1 December. Was told that the SA Embassy in Dublin has closed. Cannot access any application forms. Would you email me one or do I do this at the Embassy? I have my SA Identity Book and have since found my passport that I thought may have been stolen. It has expired.

Hi, I hope you are well! I’ve got an inquiry about tourist visas for South Africa and I was hoping that you can help me with some information. I am a Romanian citizen and I have a Romanian passport, but I am studying in the UK (Glasgow) and therefore, I have a residency here and a pre-settled status, as I came before Brexit. I plan on visiting SA this summer and I read online that I can apply for a touristic visa at one of SA’s consulates within the UK if I have a residency here. When I look online on the SA’s home affairs website Romania is on the visa exempt category list. However, when I look on VFS Global, it suggests that Romanian citizens are not on a visa exempt list and need to apply in advance for a tourist visa. I was then confused if I need a visa or not. Can you please help me figure this out? I also made an account on e-visas for South Africa and when I created my account there was again the same list as the one on the SA’s home affairs website which suggests I don’t need to apply for a visa in advance. But at the same time a pop-up box appeared mentioning that Romanian citizens are now qualified to apply online for a visa. Meanwhile, VFS Global suggests that all applications must be done in person at a South African embassy. So right now I am really confused, and I have been trying to call different embassy or help lines but no one had replied. Can you please help me understand if I need to apply or not for a tourist visa? And if so, can I do an e-visa online or do I need to apply in person? And also, I was wondering if I need to hand in my original passport in case I need to apply in person? Thank you in advance, Iulia Bere?

I would like to know whether a holder of UK Home Office travel documents is required to apply a business visa for a short business trip to Cape Town. I tried to phone your given phone number for visa questions but no one answered my calls. Your clarification is most appreciated. If necessary, I am more than happy to visit you in Shawlands.
